By Julie Bell, R.N. I am fearfully and wonderfully made I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me This is sooooo hard but I can do it. I can! I am going to make it. We can do it together. Come on baby. Come on down baby. I'm facing the fear and I'm doing it anyway! I'm amazing! I'm so impressed with myself! I can't believe I'm actually do this!!! He is with me. He is mighty to save. He's rejoicing over me with singing. He's comforting me with His love. God is FOR me! He is my helper and my refuge. God is my strength. He has commanded His angels concerning me, to lift me up in their hands. I'm safe, My baby is safe. This is intense, soooo intense. But we are OK. We are going to be OK. I can do this. My body can do this. I'm opening up. I'm yielding. I'm stretching. It's all happening. Yes. I'm going with it. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I know that inside your head, your mind is screaming the opposite, but I think that through the renewing of your mind, you can get your mind to focus on the truth of God's word rather than the fear/worry tape that plays in your head. It's not natural, but with a bit of practice and focus I think that you can renew/refresh your mind and build up your faith and confidence. I'm not saying it's easy - but every little effort is worth it and pays off. It's great when loving supporting people around you are praying for you and speaking such things into your spirit - but I think even better is when your own spirit is calling out these things to your inner being - maybe you can't exactly verbalise them out loud in the intensity of labour, but in your head you can still be ministering them to yourself - even when your mind is yelling the opposite as in: "that's it! I quit! I resign! I'm outta here! Gimme drugs! Gimme a general aneasthetic! Who do I sue!?" |
