    May that be cry of our hearts, Father, that you would have dominion over us.  Help us to remember
    you Lord, and cause each heart to bow down before you.  You are the King of pregnancy, God,
    and we understand that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  You designed us with a fantastic
    skill that we will never understand, so help us to trust in Your design, to relinquish our control over
    it, and to dedicate every choice we make to You.

        Lord, there is so much to consider during this time, so many schools of thought and so much
    information out there to soak in.  Father, guide and direct Your families, help us to seek after truth
    and godliness for the sake of our children.  Remove any fear or doubt in our minds, for we know
    that they are not of You.  Cause us to be worthy parents of Your children, help us to study and
    prepare as diligently as we can, because we know that there are things that can snare us if we are
    not careful.

        Father, equip us with the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can stand firm in the grace of Jesus
    Christ, as our family grows and develops.  Help us to recognize the magnitude of this event, and
    may we approach it with all seriousness and sobriety.  We look forward to seeing your will unfold in
    our lives, and we desire to be faithful witnesses of Christ, as others watch us while we live our lives
    out for you.  May our testimony be preserved and may we be always sensitive to witnessing to a
    person who needs You.  We all need You, God, and so we are thankful that You have not forsaken
    us, we are so glad that You keep your promises, and we have faith that You will work out everything
    that needs to happen in due time.

        As we become parents, Lord, may any hidden wound be healed so that we can open up fully to
    you, giving you full control over our life.  Cover our hearts with your healing balm and repair
    anything that is getting in the way of total surrender to you.  We trust in you enough to allow you to
    restore us, to take control of our life, to take control of this pregnancy and birth, and to take control
    of our parenting.  May we assume the role of parent from the time of conception, nurturing our child
    with the decisions that we make.  May we communicate with them from the beginning and pray for
    them continually.  Let us sing your praises often so our children will hear them from the womb, and
    may they recognize the Holy Spirit because He has been within us while they were within us.

        We bow down before you Lord, and give you all the glory and honor that you deserve.  Be with
    the families as they remember you during their pregnancy and birth.  Allow them to be a witness of
    your love and grace, the most awesome gift of all.  Purify our lives and make us holy, because you
    are holy.  May the words in this book edify, equip, and encourage the reader as they prepare for
    their child to join them in their arms.  When the child looks into their eyes for the first time, may they
    see you, Holy God.  We love you and pray to you in the precious name of your Son, Jesus Christ.  
    Amen!
