The Cascade Christian Childbirth Association Labor Doula
    Certification Program is designed to provide childbirth
    professionals with a way to demonstrate their understanding of the
    practical application of skills in the Labor Doula profession from a
    Christian perspective.  Cascade honors the experience and
    knowledge gained by each individual and has therefore created a
    certification program that adheres to the highest of standards in the
    paraprofessional community of childbirth.   You will be able to
    demonstrate that you have acquired the necessary information and
    skills in order to perform in the role of Labor Doula.  

    After applying, participants will have one year to complete the
    program.

    Part One:          
       * Become a member of Cascade  
    * Apply to the Christian Childbirth Labor Doula Certification
    Program.
    Application

    Part Two (Religious Study)
    * Read the Doula Training Modules
    * Complete three short Christian Childbirth book reviews
    * Submit short answer essays

    Part Three (Practical Assessment)
    * Submit 3 evaluations for three separate births of which you were
    the primary Doula.  Include one from the parents, one from the
    attendant (nurse or student midwife), and one from the provider
    for each birth.  (Must be within the last 2 years)
    * Successfully pass the challenge test with a score of 80% or
    higher.

    Part Four (Finalization)
    * Sign Cascade’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Service.
    * Submit all documents in one packet with the Certification

    Cascade will review the Certification Program Packet and send a
    certificate designating you as a Christian Certified Labor Doula
    (CCLD).  

    Fast Track Program

    For those who are currently certified by another
    doula organization, complete the above requirements and:

    Provide proof of current certification
    Omit the submission of 3 birth evaluations
    Omit two of the three book reviews
