Hello Everyone! Let us open in prayer. Father, thank you so much for providing this method of keeping in touch and to join together in your name. May your will come about in this study, and may each one of us grow in our walk toward you! Lord, be number One in our lives, and may we be living testimonies to your love. Teach us today as we seek to live out your will. In Jesus' name, Amen! Now for the study. I will share with you a short message that the Lord has placed on my heart during the last week, and then post the questions from Chapter One for you to answer. Feel free to comment on the message, too if you want. You can share what the Lord is doing in your life right now. Weekly Message This last week I have been feeling like the Lord would have us to turn our eyes toward our homes. I mean, not our immediate home, but our "home town," our family. There are a lot of uncertainties in our life, a lot of illusion, a lot of vanity. If everything we cherish were taken away, if all our earthly technology and comforts vanished, we would be left with very little but our "clan." This week, take a close look at who your "clan" is. Who would be there with you and for you if everything as we know it was taken away? Take a very good hard look at that. Are you at odds with some of these people? Are there past hurts you have been unable to forgive? I believe the Lord would have us reconcile those things and return to a close relationship with our loved ones. Because in the end, they are truly all we have on this earth. (Besides the Lord of course.) And when you have a firm grasp on that, I would ask you to think about the child within you. You are going to be that person that they will look to some day when they are adults, as you are looking at your close loved ones right now. Make a commitment that you will be strong for them, that you will nurture a close, loving relationship with them, that you will make sure they know that they are loved by you, no matter what, starting right now. 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:7- 11 The Questions 1. How have you bonded with your baby so far? 2. Perform some of the songs in this chapter for your baby. 3. Have you given your baby a nick-name yet? 4. What are you doing to show your baby that you love them? 5. How are you controlling stress? For those of you whose babies have already been born... 1. What things did you do during your pregnancy that helped you bond? 2. Did you have a special song you sang to your child and do they seem to recognize it now? 3. What is your child's nick name? Why did you give that name to them? 4. What are you doing to show your baby that you love them? 5. How are you controlling your stress? Ok, that is it for now. Please feel free to post your thoughts to the message and the questions. Father, thank you for the Love you have given us as a model so that we can in turn love those around us. Help us to grow close to those in our lives that are part of our clan. Help us to create fun ways to show them they are loved, and important to us. In Jesus' name, AMEN! |
